It all started with a conversation that never really ended
Our story began in the most unexpected place, at work!
When Thishana joined Adcock Ingram, she walked into a team that was warm and welcoming. Lunchtimes quickly became a favourite part of the day, where everyone gathered to share food, laughter, and the small moments that make a busy day feel lighter.
Somewhere between those shared lunches and easy conversations, Thishana and Tashin found themselves gravitating towards each other. What started as simple chats soon turned into endless conversations at their desks, in passing moments, and long after the workday had ended through messages that neither of them wanted to cut short.
Their friendship grew naturally, filled with laughter, comfort, and a sense of familiarity that felt effortless. Of course, their colleagues noticed what was quietly unfolding. With playful nudges, teasing remarks, and the occasional 'inappropriate' joke, the team made sure neither of them could ignore the connection that was becoming more and more obvious.
And so, after some time, Tashin decided to take a leap and make a move. What followed was the beginning of something special. Their friendship soon blossomed into love built on laughter, understanding and the shared joy of being together. Even now, some of their favourite moments are the simplest ones, like ending each day side by side talking about everything and nothing over a good cup of tea.
It all started with a conversation that never really ended.
What's your most memorable date?
Our most memorable date was our very first one. Tashin surprised Thishana with a dessert plate that she very confidently tried to refuse, insisting we hadn't ordered dessert yet. Eventually the waiter placed it down on the table, only to reveal the words in chocolate sauce 'You will be my girlfriend' instead of 'Will you be my girlfriend?'. Safe to say, the dessert was unforgettable and so was the answer that followed!
How did the proposal happen?
Our proposal story has two very special moments that mean a lot to us. We first had a traditional Tamil proposal surrounded by our nearest and dearest. Just over a year later, Tashin popped the question in Lake Como, Italy. It was an intimate, unexpected and incredibly special moment.
What's been your most favourite trip together so far?
Travelling across Europe!
What does a perfect day together look like?
A perfect day together is a cosy one at home with Jinx (our cat), curled up on the couch, sharing a hearty meal, watching a good movie and ending the day with a conversation-filled walk.
What's Jinx's role in our relationship?
Jinx is the mediator in our relationship. It's impossible to have a serious conversation without her doing something playful and silly to get our attention, which never fails to make us laugh.
Who or what are you most thankful for as you start this new chapter?
We are most grateful for the love and support we have received from our closest family and friends. From the very beginning of our journey and even more so now as we take this next big step together.
What are you most excited about for married life?
We're looking forward to building a home together, growing through all the seasons of life, and continuing the same friendship and laughter that started it all.
